Why use Organic Deodorant!

Hi Everyone,

Everyone always asks, "why use natural or organic deodorant?"

"What is in the deodorant we spray or rub on our body every morning, to ensure we don’t stink?
We try to not offend those around us, even though we are possibly doing harm to our own body.
Deodorants are full of nasty cosmetic chemicals such as; Aluminum, Triclosan, Parabens, Phthalates, and Fragrance and yet we don’t question it.  Imagine drinking a spoonful of those ingredients every morning, I don’t think you would.

“When you eat something, it’s broken down by your liver and digestive system,” says Heather Patisaul, Ph.D., an associate professor of biology at North Carolina State University. “But when you put something on your skin, there are times when it can enter your bloodstream without being metabolized.”  Not rocket science!

Research also shows that some compounds used in deodorant are absorbed and stored in fat cells, which are widespread in the underarm area, says Philip Harvey, Ph.D., editor in chief of the Journal of Applied Toxicology. Your underarm tissue also contains hormone receptors, which could react to some of those same deodorant ingredients, says Philip Harvey.

What’s the alternate you ask? Organic deodorant is becoming more popular and can help keep the stink away all day.  Some, you may need to reapply throughout the day, but in my book, that’s a small price to pay.  At the end of the day, you need to be in control and educated on what you are putting in, and on your body".
